His previous employers include UBS Financial Services Inc. (CRD #8174) and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated (CRD #7691), also of Indianapolis, and UBS Painewebber Inc. (CRD #8174) of Weehawken, NJ. He has been in the industry since 1999.

Murans is the subject of six disclosures, two of which are employment separations. His most recent disclosure was filed on 11/18/2018, carried over from his previous employment with UBS Financial Services. The client claims that from 12/2/2013 through 10/20/2017, Murans misrepresented a “life settlement contract” that was ultimately unsuitable, and unauthorized trading of “structured products.” The client also alleged that she was completely unaware that she was borrowing from her loan account. Murans denies the allegations, and has requested copies of the complaint, as has Thurston Springer Financial, but UBS has not supplied the requested information to verify the complaint. The case was settled for $250,000.

A customer dispute filed on 5/16/2018 is currently listed as “pending.” The customer alleges “Unsuitable investments, unauthorized credit line agreement, unauthorized trades, uninvested funds, lost market opportunity,” and requests damages of $183,000. Murans denies the allegations.

The next claim was filed on 09/13/2016, alleging excessive and unsuitable unauthorized trading, churning, and unsuitable account portfolio management from April 2002 through 2015. This claim went to arbitration and settled on May 2, 2017 for $1,100,000.00. Malis did not contribute to this settlement amount.

FINRA filed a disclosure on 7/17/2018 against Venturino for failing to comply with an arbitration award/letter. He was suspended for one day, as his counsel was arranging installment payments; it later became obvious that the claimant had no intention of doing so. The first, filed on 2/19/2010, alleged “excessive and unauthorized trading, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, misrepresentation and unsuitability.”  This customer requested damages of $299,817.48, and the case settled for $75,000. The second case, filed on 5/25/2010, alleged “churning, unsuitable trades and misrepresentation.”  The client requested damages of $417,000.00, and the case was settled for $40,000.

A previous client dispute filed on 12/18/2017 alleged that Hildebrandt “misrepresented the IRA brokerage account by assuring him that the same investments were available to him if he transferred his assets from his 401k account.” Without admitting fault, the firm and Hildebrandt settled with the client for $7,414.23.
