Glenn Moffitt Barred By FINRA For Alleged Elder Fraud on silverlaw.comThe SEC announced an emergency asset freeze and temporary restraining order against a Chicago-based investment adviser and his financial management company accused of scamming elderly investors out of millions of dollars.

In the SEC’s complaint, the SEC alleges that Daniel H. Glick (CRD# 2175655) and his unregistered investment advisory firm Financial Management Strategies (“FMS”) took advantage of seniors who entrusted him with millions of dollars’ worth of their retirement savings.

According to the SEC complaint, Glick and his companies raised over $6 million from elderly investors, with most of the money coming from two families.  Glick first raised money though Glick & Associates until dissolution in 2014, then through Glick Accounting Services and FMS.

Silver Law Group is investigating former Locust, North Carolina-based LPL Financial LLC (CRD# 6413) broker Sherman L. Greer(CRD# 4910464) after FINRA permanently barred him.

According to Greer’s FINRA BrokerCheck report, FINRA permanently barred Greer in November 2016 from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public after Greer failed to respond to FINRA’s request for information.

Prior to FINRA’s bar, LPL Financial discharged Greer in May 2016 after he failed to respond to inquiries from LPL Financial’s compliance department.

Silver Law Group is investigating former Las Vegas, Nevada broker Frank R. Underhill Jr. (CRD# 4970331) after FINRA permanently barred him.

According to Underhill’s FINRA BrokerCheck report, Underhill who owned and operated his own brokerage firm, Underhill Securities Corp. (CRD# 148001), FINRA permanently barred Underhill from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public.

Underhill failed to respond to a FINRA request for information, according to his BrokerCheck report, which was the cause of his permanent bar.

Silver Law Group is investigating former Arizona-based LPL Financial LLC (CRD# 6413) broker Dominic T. DeBruin (CRD# 2788196) after FINRA permanently barred the broker.

According to DeBruin’s FINRA BrokerCheck report, FINRA permanently barred DeBruin from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities to the public.

According to the FINRA BrokerCheck report, DeBruin, without admitting or denying the findings, consented to FINRA entry of findings that he refused to provide information and documents and to appear for on-the-record testimony as requested by FINRA.
