James T. Flynn Barred By FINRA

The clients represented in this case are not the only people harmed by Flynn. Before FINRA permanently barred him, he was a rogue broker who caused serious damage to many clients.

Flynn’s publicly-available BrokerCheck report lists over 30 disclosures, including multiple customer disputes for false and misleading representations and unsuitable investment recommendations, as well as employment separations.

Overconcentration

A brokerage firm may be held liable for overconcentrating a client’s account or investments in a singular product. However, illiquid investments such as REITS are frequently sold in large dollar increments. High commissions and other incentives can lead a stockbroker to overconcentrate a client in these investments or inflate a customer’s net worth.
