Previous employers include Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated (CRD#:7691), also of Staten Island, NY, Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC (CRD#:19616) of Red Bank, NJ and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. (CRD#:7059), of Staten Island, NY. Two of Kinsman’s previous employers have been expelled by FINRA.

A client dispute filed on 4/9/2019 alleges that Kinsman “made unsuitable investment recommendations, forgery and falsifying business records” from 2012 through 2017. This claim is currently “pending,” and does not list a dollar amount for damages.

Previously, a customer dispute filed on 10/17/2016 alleges that Kinsmen indicated that an investment was “principal protected,” would offer a 5% rate of return, and would have no associated fees. The period in question was 11/19/2014 through 10/17/2016. The claim was reportedly settled for $24,000 to avoid the costs associated with arbitration and/or litigation.

Just a few months prior, another claim that alleged Kinsman made “misrepresented and unsuitable” investment recommendations was voluntarily dropped by the client, who had requested $50,000 in damages.

Two prior claims, from 2008 and 1998, were also settled by the company in avoidance of litigation. Both were related to account performance, and one involved Auction Rate Securities.
