An assortment of charges, firings, and settlements have followed the broker for the last decade

Christopher Vincent Paul’s 14-year career has come to an end. After failing to give the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) information it was looking for, the agency permanently barred him from acting as a broker.

From May of 2001 to August of 2015, these are the firms with which Paul was associated, all of them in New York:

  • S.W. Bach & Company – Port Washington
  • Whitaker Securities, Inc. – Melville
  • Granite Associates, Inc. – Melville
  • VC Arjent Ltd. – NYC
  • Arjent Services LLC – NYC
  • Rockwell Securities LLC – NYC
  • Aegis Capital Corp. – NYC
  • Joseph Stone Capital L.L.C – Mineola

He also conducted business as the Nolan Bennet Group in Staten Island, NY.

Paul had a checkered history as a broker. He was involved in six customer disputes in which he was accused of, among other things, breach of contract, unauthorized trading, and misrepresentation. He was also fired or permitted to resign from three firms.

The most recent dispute against Paul was settled in September of 2015. According to a client, Paul made unsuitable investments and engaged in churning from October 2013 to June of 2015. Damages were granted in the sum of $21,000.

Churning is an all-too common practice of unscrupulous brokers. This is when trading occurs not for the benefit of a client, but simply to generate commission for the broker.

Just like Paul, one of his former firms has also been banned from the securities industry. In 2008, VC Arjent Ltd. was expelled for failing to pay fines related to SEC violations.
