In addition, the rule mandated that they could only earn reasonable compensation and must be transparent about this compensation as well as the products they sell.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, in March, a federal appeals court <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/secs-new-code-of-conduct-rules-may-eclipse-fiduciary-standard-initiatives-2018-04-17\"  rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">struck down the DOL\u2019s rule<\/a><\/span>.
