Kalter was discharged from his most recent employer on 7/20/2018 after soliciting business in states where he was not registered to conduct business. Dawson James has offices in New York and Boca Raton, Florida.  Dawson James is known for serving as the investment banker to many biotech companies.

In 2014, Kalter was sanctioned by FINRA for attempting to settle a claim away from the firm with two other brokers after a customer complained about the losses in his account. Kalter was suspended for 10 days, and signed an Acceptance, Waiver & Consent letter.

A customer complaint filed on 10/19/2012 alleged “unsuitable investment recommendations” and an unauthorized purchase of stock. The customer requested damages of $78,285.70, and the case was settled for $46,500.00. Kalter denies the accusations, and contributed $4,900 to the settlement to avoid the expense of litigation.
